We are now carrying Lightweight Drywall ! It is 30% lighter, comes in 8',10'and 12' sheets , is easier to cut and will span 24" centers. All for the same price as regular drywall !
Plywoods
Spruce
This product is the most widely used plywood for general construction. The 1/2" is generally used for roof decking and the 5/8" or 3/4" is usually used for floors. It is not a sanded product and it is priced much lower than a Good One Side plywood.
Fir
We stock a Select grade of fir in 5/8" and 3/4". This is a sanded product and is generally used in floors. Fir is a very strong wood species
Radiata Pine
This is a relatively new product. It usually comes from Chile. It has a face that is almost knot free and is attractively priced. There are few core voids as well. We have substituted our Good One Side Fir for this product now.
Oriented Strand Board
This product is called many things ! Aspenite, Waferboard, Chipboard, Particleboard. Whatever you wish to call it, it is relatively cheap and is manufactured from "junk" wood from the forest. The glues and production methods used nowdays are much better. We stock 4'x8'x1/4", 7/16" and 5/8" T&G.

MDF
MDF stands for Medium Denisty Fibreboard. It is usually used in the construction of cabinets and furniture. It is easy to drill, sand and resists crumbling. Ask one of our sales representatives to show you a sample. We stock it in 4'x8' sheets. It also comes in a product called Slotwall which is for hanging product.
Masonite
This product is also called hardboard. It is brown in colour and is tempered.
Panelling-Interior
We stock about a dozen interior wall panels in 4'x8'. The patterns change regularly. Drop by to see our selection!
Exterior Sheet Siding
CanWel’s Chalet® Plywood Siding is manufactured using selected softwood face veneers. The textured face grooved 8” on centre gives a traditional vertical siding appearance. Vertical siding has been the siding of choice for years and can be applied to virtually any cottage, utility, or agricultural building.
In addition to Natural, Chalet® is available in four primed colors: Cedartone, Grey, Redwood and new Taupe.
Available in 4x8 sheets.
CanWel also manufactures T-111 exterior siding. We carry it in a 4'x8'x5/8" panel.
Melamine
We carry white in stock.4'x8' sheets.
